Motorsport have been preparing cars for competition since
1989 and have been running
cars in national and international events ever since with
many class wins. Proving that a lot can be achieved without
'megabucks', as long as the commitment is there.
1989
1989 started with many class wins for Gawaine Clark and Neil
Galjaard in road rallies in a Fiat Strada.
Gawaine
and Neil progressed to the first stage rally at Manby in Lincolnshire, which
was sponsored by MAD videos, achieving stage times in the top
20.
The stage was completed in a borrowed car running "knobblies"
and worn road tyres on tarmac!
Gawaine and Neil were also part of the winning team in the Kwik-Fix
Stages Rally. top
1990
Gawaine and Neil managed several top 20 finishes in a self-built
Avenger 1600 - even though it was very underpowered (only 72 BHP
at the flywheel).
Gawaine and Neil managed even more road rally class wins in the
Fiat Strada including taking 6th position overall in the Cossack
Rally.
Gawaine became Lincoln Motorcycle and Car Club's Champion Driver.

1991
Started off with more top 20 finishes in the Avenger 1600, and
then became part of the winning team in the Phoenix Stages Rally.
Changed the car for a 1600 Group N (showroom class) Peugeot 205
and finished 1st in group N and 13th overall at the Mad Videos
Rally at Manby.
Gawaine and Neil, became the East Midlands Single Venue Champions.
Gawaine was awarded the Jack Timms Trophy for achievement in motorsport
by Lincoln Motorcycle and Car Club. top

2nd overall in the championship and winning the class five times
and only failing to finish once with the first mechanical failure
for the Team in two years. top
This year the team purchased a Peugeot 205 1600 Group A car -
that is, a Peugeot factory rally-team specification car.
At a Pre-Championship Rally, The Phoenix Stages, at Cadwell Park
in the Group A car, Gawaine finished 1st in the class and 6th
overall. The Co-Driver was Justine Beatty who won the seat in
a Children in Need Auction and thoroughly enjoyed her day...a
brilliant result for Gawaine with the extremely icy conditions,
a new car and a new co- driver.!!!

We were leading in the 1600 Class..... until a serious crash took

round on closed, tarmac roads.....after the rebuilding of the
1600 A engine!

Round 5- THE MANX STAGES. I- O- M.
A very serious accident at a point when the pair were lying 1st
in their class and 13th overall, with a top ten average time on
the first stage, meant that the Civic was a write-off and Michael
and Breeshey had to retire when they were right at the top.

Turbo
failure in the French Rally dropped the Team from the top 10.

time lost early on in the event.
The
Team also took part in the Ypres 24 hour Rally and the Tour of
Flanders.
Michael
and Bree were in the Peugeot Cup and struggled to find the speed
necessary but managed a very credable 4th place on the narrow
lanes of Ulster. A learning year for the crew who are geared up
for an all-out attack on the Championship in 2000. top
Michael Brew and Breeshey Christian tackled the ultra competitive
Peugeot Super 106 Cup again, improving rapidly throughout the
year becoming front runners of the first few rounds. they set
many of the fastest stage times but luck wes not always with them
and the finishing place of 5th in the championship did not represent
the pace shown.
Gawaine and Bob tackled the Mintex Series ending the year 2nd
in group N and 5th overall. A good result for the first year in
the Subaru.
Jason
